My husband's name is Jack.
It was a recent comment from blogger Rhonda at one of our favorite blogs (down-to-earth)-- see sidebar-- that
Which is kind of funny because Jack is his nickname, and I'm not sure nicknames qualify as real names. But it's what I call him and he calls himself. It's just not what he signs on the back of his paychecks. But then again, Rasputin isn't that common a name. No no JUST KIDDING...his real name is not Rasputin!
(Or is it...? I know you're wondering now...)
Seriously
All that to say that Jack wanted a basic introduction, and here it is. He is happy for you to know his name.
Feel free to say "Hi, Jack!" at any point now.
Except out loud at the airport...

LOL...
Oh he's going to be sooooo sorry he was just "J" for so long...
Hi, Jack!
"Mr. Robbyn" ... I love it.
When we got married I kept my last name. Between that and Kelly having a first name that's way more common with girls and a last name that's a typical guy's first name, we encounter a lot of name confusion.
My favorite was when we were having a freezer delivered under my name, but gave Kelly's cell phone number because it's more reliable. When the delivery guys called to confirm the directions to our house, Kelly answered and the guy asked, "Hi, is this Mr. Meg Meg'slastname?" and Kelly said, "Yes, it is."
Meg, lol! Oh, and I can relate to Kelly more than you know. It seems that where I grew up, the name "Robin" (the spelling "Robbyn" was unheard of) was mostly for boys. My mother kept my hair cut shortshortshort (groan)during my gawky junior high years...you know, the years before girls become more curvy? Yeah, that's right...trauma. A boy's name AND figure...
Your Jack needs to meet Appalachian Jack of the Jack Tales. Jack is a can-do guy who outwits giants, ogres and kings and finds unusual ways of doing so--sort of an Appalachian MacGiver from the first settlers. I think your Jack is same kind of guy.
