I'm trying a Technorati experiment after reading Christina's recent post. Let's see if I can do it right. I have two left thumbs when it comes to doing anything beyond Remedial Computer 101.
The steps listed are:
1. Copy The List Below into a blog post of yours.
2. Add Your Link To The List
3. Comment on this post and leave your links so the web crawlers can get to your blog and at the same time, leave your comment and links to the original post so your blog will be included on the master list. Got to include your blog on the master list.
4. Watch Your Authority Sky-Rocket..
Anyone want to try this? I'm curious...

Hmmmm....I'm not sure after reading your post and Christina's post what this is supposed to do. How does this make "your authority skyrocket"? Explain, please :-)

I have no idea...it was an experiment, in my case. And I haven't even done it right, according to the person who started it. After following the instructions (I think) my blog doesn't appear on the list and I'm not sure anything has happened with the technorati authority. We'll see. I don't blog here for commercial reasons, as this is really just a personal, though public, journal, so the technorati and other things are more of a curiosity to me than something important. Plus, I'm a computer neophyte! If you find this is a computer hoax of some kind, please let me know, and I'll pull the post :)
Ah, but see...apparently I'm even more of a neophyte than you are...I have no idea what the words "technorati authority" even mean!! I saw your blog listed at the end of your list...or is there another site that it should be appearing, too? Is this experiment meant to generate activity and readership to your blog? I'll certainly let you know if I hear anything about it being a hoax, but right now, I'm still trying to figure out what the experiment is supposed to do! :-) :-)

The Technorati "authority" number is supposedly the number of blogs linking to your own blog, or something like that. See? I'm hopeless at this techno stuff, lol!

No, This experiment certainly isn't a "Hoax". It is just a way to gain backlinks to your blog.. Increasing your rankings in Google and Yahoo.
I have yet to add you yet Robbyn, I was just going to do that when I saw your comment.
You did everything right, I just need to put you on the list :)

Thanks, Brad! Y'know, I'm so computer AND blog illiterate, I'm lucky there is such a thing as Blogger where you can pretty much push a button and see things magically appear...lol :)
Well so far... I went from a 7 to an 11. I don't know if I did it right either.... I don't see my name on the list on your page.... oh well... I will go back and check brad's list.
