I Want to Know Mrs. Adelia!

Mystery solved!

And you're realllllyyyyy going to love this :)

Last year I followed a blog link to another blog where the author had written a post called The Queen of Frugal: Lessons from Butterberry Farm. Which one is the greater hook...the term Queen of Frugal, or any place named Butterberry Farm??

(happy sigh!!)

The post was the first in a series where the author wrote about a woman she met (at her Farmer's Market) named Mrs. Adelia, who, it turns out, is truly a frugal queen. You have to read the post there to understand, but she and her family live SO truly simply, but very very well. And you won't believe how little actual money they spend. It had the ring of authenticity of someone who's BEEN living a way I am headed towards but still find elusive in many ways.

I hope you enjoy discovering Mrs. Adelia yourself. Here is Kendra's Blog entitled Handprints on the Wall...a wonderful blog, and here is where Kendra begins her series about Mrs. Adelia entitled Lessons from Butterberry Farm. If you want to read it chronologically, start at the bottom of that page at the oldest entry, and read upwards.

Enjoy!! :)

That was really interesting. Thanks for linking to it. I've also been enjoying the "Going Amish" tales at Seeking Simplicity. Have you seen those?

Kendra, I am so glad you are writing many of the things you learn...many of us wish we had someone who could help us with the hands-on part of the learning curve when it comes to embracing a lifestyle of simplicity and self-sufficiency! Thank you for sharing on your blog :)

Gail, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do :)

Chile, yes I just saw that link the other day and have reserved it for a good, long read...thanks for passing the link along! I also am new to the one called Eclectic Culture Farm at this link: http://eclecticculturefarm.blogspot.com/ They bought a home in an Amish community, too, and went off-grid, and are writing about it

If I remember right, this series was the inspiration for the Women not Dabbling in Normal blog! I remember Kathie saying that many of take it for granted we are living "abnormally" to society.

I forgot about it. I need to add her blog to my roll so I remember to read it. I love reading about the path to simplicity (it helps me renew the commitment I started so many years ago and constantly find myself swaying off path).
