The B Word

Happy Birthday to me
I'm not 43
I'm now 44
And my biological clock is going nuts wondering if I'll have any more babies and thinking it may not happen and maybe I'm ok with that and maybe I'm not but it would be nice to have the choice.

And many more... ;-)

Thank you Jack for your love and being my best friend, my champion, mi corazon.
All thanks to the Almighty for giving me miracles and a life so full of wonder and everyday gratefulness, for giving me my friends, my husband, my daughter, these years, the growth and the healing and the memories and the hope for days ahead.

Thanks to my friends for the connection and the sharing...I learn from you daily and am grateful!

44, let's see what happens

Happy B-Day! I'm also 44, it's a great age, you have lots of knowledge, experience and hopefully are still young enough to enjoy it all.

The thought of having children at my age sends a shiver down my spine, for lots of reasons, I couldn't imaging bringing up children in this day and age, of course they say that at every generation...:)

I am a grandmother, fairly new at the gm thing, but still a gm none the less. I am thoroughly enjoying my empty nest life, I love my son, but I'm glad he's grown and living his own life.

I pulled the battery out of my biological clock, threw it far far away, don't want to listen to it. I'm actually looking forward to not having my monthlies, don't need that slowing me down each month...

Enjoy 44, live life to the fullest, set some goals, be sure to reach some that you had already, you do have goals, right?

Thanks, Wretha! Yes, I have goals a-plenty and I guess the main reason I haven't completely nixed the idea of more children is that I am married to Jack, who is the great love of my life...I want there to be more of him in this world. But life's good no matter which way the bio clock swings, and I'll be in full practice for spoiling grandkids if given the opportunity ;-)

Happy Birthday!

I'll be 43 in May, but I already tell people I'm 43 when they ask how old I am. I forget that I'm not 43 ... yet ;). Weird, I know ;).

I know that I'm done with childbearing, though. I have five children, the youngest of whom is only seven, and I have a granddaughter who will be three this year.

But I am totally okay with not having more kids. I figure I have a lot of other "babies" to nurture - my nanofarm and my book to name two ;).

Oh, I should have read your reply to Wretha before I hit the "publish" button.

I know just what you're saying. Before I met Deus Ex Machina, I thought, with two children, I was done have kids, but after we got married, I wanted nothing more than to have babies with him. We have three amazing, beautiful, smart, funny daughters. They and he are my life.

I had my only child at 40, and now that I'm 48 and he's a VERY active, talkative, strong-willed 8, I am realizing why it may have been ill-advised to wait so long. On the other hand, I wasn't emotionally ready before, and I believe God's timing is perfect -- no matter how tired (physically, mentally and emotionally) I am!

Happy Birthday!!!

HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! (And many, many more!)

I also shudder at the thought of more kids for myself. I have one grandchild and that's good enough. Actually I think grandkids are way more fun than children! You can love 'em, spoil 'em, play w/'em, and then give 'em back to their parents!
