Mockingbird

"Mockingbirds don't do one thing but make music for us to enjoy... but sing their hearts out for us. That's why it's a sin to kill a mockingbird."

Harper Lee  To Kill a Mockingbird

This is the guy peering at me from above our parked truck on a day when Jack was inside a store getting rental quotes for land-clearing equipment.  My leg decided not to work that day and I was secretly feeling sorry for myself having to sit still so long until this fellow (or gal?) began to fuss, then to serenade.  A music break!

Mockingbirds sing so beautifully. Sorry to hear you were having a bad day. I hope all is better.

To kill a mockingbird, great book!!!

Sandy, so often I just never come here to post if I don't have something to "report." This leg has become its own entity sometimes...I never know how it's going to be any given day, and that's just my reality. So I decided not to avoid mentioning it any more. NOT feeling sorry for myself, but just wanting to "keep it real"...it's my reality in this homesteading journey and I love it all, the good the bad, the mundane and the ugly. All told, it's still "all good," even when it's not, ha!

When we moved to Florida, I wanted to hear all the birds singing 365 days a year.

Imagine my broken heart when I just saw crow's and one Mocking bird. But it's the only way I can hear "different" songs.between24
