Trying to get a picture of Kaleb is an adventure in motion photography. We go for frequent romps outside. He's usually wearing this happy grin.
unless some fascinating smell has to be checked out...
...or he patiently poses for about 2.67 seconds for the camera lady. "Hey lady, the sun's in my eyes"But the pic makes me laugh...he looks like someone about to deliver a cheesy pick-up line

Jackson hates it when I point the camera at him and try to get him to pose. I get none of the alert, happy or mischievous expressions I want to capture! But who really cares about that, right? The whole world doesn't have to see it, 'cause WE get to see it every day! Hurray for our black tri-color Aussie boys. :-)

ReplyDeleteWe just got our first Aussie a couple weeks ago and I am in love with him! He is an absolute doll and just wants to please me. Energy abounds and I am training him around the chickens. I have this weird fear that Aussie's and chickens don't mix, but he is proving me wrong. He is only 4 months old now and he doesn't bother chasing them anymore since I've been training him. I really think this will all work! Do you have chickens free ranging around your aussie? My boy looks just like yours, a tri-color! Beautiful!

Danielle, we're not set up for chickens just yet but I believe he would acclimate well to livestock...just not other big dogs (that's one of the specifics in his own history but not necessarily in all Aussies)...so glad you're enjoying your new fella!
House, we wanted him foremost bonded to us and then later to the animals we'll add. He and any other Aussies we may have in future will need "jobs," but his main one is going to be helping tend whatever we have going on at the time, and being watchful and engaged in most of what we're doing at the ol' homestead. He's already very good at recognizing what does and doesnt belong in his "territory"...which I love :)
