I also bought a new TV since I had the money and my other was SO old. Now, I rarely turn the thing on. People don't realize how much time they waste with that thing and how it can influence you also and the information they choose to give you can rarely be trusted. I am astounded at how much time one of our local news channels devote to American Idol! And there are people starving and being abused all over this world and they are fascinated with who got thrown off some stupid program about singing! I mean, if you like some of the shows that's fine; I have watched some occasionally but we really put too much emphasis on meaningless crap.MamaHenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17018971960706063902noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6627749570719712047.post-25989149135176019762008-04-26T10:47:00.000-07:002008-04-26T10:47:00.000-07:00Re: #22; YIKES! Much as I'm crazy in love with my granddaughter I could not IMAGINE having another kid of my own at this stage of my life. (I'm just three years older than you.) But if that's what you want then good luck on that.

As far as the butter goes, Drew is right. That is the easiest way to make butter quickly. HOWEVER...if you want a really delicious version check this out :
http://www.travelerslunchbox.com/journal/2007/6/21/getting-some-culture.html

I've made it a few times and I have to ease off because I end up eating this butter four times more often than regular butter!!!tina f.https://www.blogger.com/profile/10813986790663678450noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6627749570719712047.post-50021705114224937472008-04-26T08:50:00.000-07:002008-04-26T08:50:00.000-07:00Our family had opted for internet over cable TV th...Our family had opted for internet over cable TV though we have an antenna and still veg out at night too often.

Chickens are my current goal.Conniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06717388726735528462noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6627749570719712047.post-63645983336502748192008-04-26T01:22:00.000-07:002008-04-26T01:22:00.000-07:00I love that you have chickens at the very top! And at #20, too! hehe

And land...very important for all those critters and plans, of course.

But I also was quite drawn to your #16 because that is also one of my creative outlets, that unfortunately I don't find enough time for me to do.

I like to pencil sketch and chalk and water color. But I recently bought a canvas that I am planning on painting my very first oil painting on...

I don't know why I'm nervous about it. I think it's because it's such a big blank white space...to fill up with something just from me.

Ooooh! The pressure!

heheh

I hope all your wishes and dreams come true!Laughing Orca Ranchhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03562627840013868980noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6627749570719712047.post-57783861745452014812008-04-25T19:00:00.000-07:002008-04-25T19:00:00.000-07:00We went with no tv for an entire summer. I think it's crazy to pay for something that makes you sit so long.sugarcreekstuffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13398483543918415852noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6627749570719712047.post-35228254255028233262008-04-25T12:34:00.000-07:002008-04-25T12:34:00.000-07:00You can check one thing off your wish list this we...You can check one thing off your wish list this weekend. Put a cup of heavy cream in a small Tupperware container with a good seal. Have the kids shake it like crazy for a minute or two each, then pass it to someone else. (No kids? Count this as your workout.) Keep going for about 10 minutes. Open it up and presto, your own butter.

Drew
How To Cook Like Your GrandmotherDrew @ Cook Like Your Grandmotherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02147260973569070400noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6627749570719712047.post-75613813445458577252008-04-25T11:56:00.000-07:002008-04-25T11:56:00.000-07:00I love this post. We can also catch some local channels with a set of rabbit ears, so we occasionally watch sports. When we do, it's amazing how ridiculous the commercials are.

On the rare occasion that we have to go to the mall for something, the window displays and ads just boggle my mind. I can't believe (well, no, I can) that people are buying all that stuff.

You are so right that everything becomes much more clear when you disengage from the big corporate noise machine.

I will send you guys some happy thoughts regarding #22 on your list :DMeghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15830705259612540929noreply@blogger.com
